636 - Civil Engineering Technology (BS)

Program criteria were established with the assistance of the Industrial Advisory Committee and are reviewed periodically. The civil engineering technology program produces graduates who:

1. utilization of principles, hardware, and software that are appropriate to produce drawings, reports, quantity estimates, and other documents related to civil engineering;

2. performance of standardized field and laboratory tests related to civil engineering;

3. utilization of surveying methods appropriate for land measurement and/or construction layout;

4. application of fundamental computational methods and elementary analytical techniques in sub-disciplines related to civil engineering;

5. planning and preparation of documents appropriate for design and construction;

6. performance of economic analyses and cost estimates related to design, construction, operations and maintenance of systems associated with civil engineering;

7. selection of appropriate engineering materials and practices; and

8. performance of standard analysis and design in at least three sub-disciplines related to civil engineering.

• Strong connection to the construction of civil works.

Employment and continuing education rate of 100 percent – 100 percent are employed.
