Sonographic Procedures II
Course Description
This course provides students with foundational knowledge in the sonographic anatomy and pathology of the female pelvis, as well as obstetric imaging throughout pregnancy. Students study the normal and abnormal sonographic appearance of the uterus and ovaries, including common pathologies affecting these structures. The course covers the sonographic evaluation of early pregnancy, focusing on normal first-trimester development and potential complications. Students assess fetal anatomy in the second and third trimesters, applying biometry to evaluate fetal growth and development. Additional topics include the evaluation of the fetal environment, including the placenta, amniotic fluid, and umbilical cord. Significant emphasis is placed on identifying fetal anomalies, syndromes, and disorders. Emphasis is placed on understanding clinical history, risk factors, and Doppler assessment to accurately interpret sonographic findings.
