Course Description

The course introduces the study of crime, criminal behavior, and the justice system. Included in this study is the process of making laws and society's sanctions for breaking laws. Students will also be introduced to theories of crime as demonstrated in the current policies of crime and punishment. In addition, there will be an overview of the criminal justice system: law enforcement, the courts, and corrections.
