Professional Ethics
Course Description
This course introduces students to historical ethical foundations that serve as frameworks for discussion, activities, and projects. Students examine how to manage relationships both internal and external to the workplace, determining how best to manage those relationships despite challenges such as privacy and conflict of interest. In addition to determining how to resolve workplace conflict ethically and justly, students assess the difficulties and conflicts that may arise between individuality and workplace standards. Through engagement with practical ethical problems, students also learn to recognize, analyze and apply environmental, cultural, and corporate social responsibilities. Course knowledge culminates in each student's development of a statement of professional ethics, which functions as an ethical cornerstone in each student's career path.
