Course Description

This course continues to build upon knowledge from Nursing I - III; critical alterations in major body systems are addressed. The students use the clinical judgement module to formulate comprehensive client-centered nursing care for clients with selected medical conditions and for critical alterations in major body systems. Client assessment, risk factors, expected findings, laboratory tests, diagnostic procedures, complications, medications, prevention, treatments, interprofessional care, and client education related to the selected health conditions are addressed. Concepts related to safety, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and informatics continue to be integrated throughout the course.
