Int & Prac for Reporters
Course Description
Students arrange for an off-campus experience with a qualified courtroom, freelance, or realtime reporter within a geographical proximity of their hometown. Students should try to arrange for a variety of experiences over the internship. Students cannot gain financially from this internship experience or transcription material.
Students are required to pass a pre-internship test of 180 words per minute in Q&A material, complete a minimum of 40 hours of which must be actual writing time, and complete a minimum of 40 pages of computer printed transcript.
Students will submit a written narrative report summarizing the internship experience. Students will produce 40 pages of transcript from various experiences during the internship and submit a signed internship verification form.
